Zusammengefasste RSS-Feeds einiger Projekte
5.3.[GPUGRID]GPUGRID wins a project to advance the understanding and cure of Schizophrenia :
GPUGRID will be the essential computational tool in a national publicly funded project (TV3-Marato) on Schizophrenia. The aims of the project is to perform in-silico modelling of antipsychotic drug actions. One of the previous task group called *JAN* were already starting to study this problem. Thanks in advance to all volunteers and stay tuned for updates. GDF
3.3.[SETI]Video on making a desktop supercomputer:
Check out a Youtube video about making a multi-GPU desktop supercomputer.
1.3.[Aqua]The AQUA server will be shutdown tomorrow for scheduled maintenance:
The server will be down for a few hours tomorrow (Tuesday, 2-Mar-2010). Our Sysadmin needs to do some hardware upgrades, and we'll be updating the OS.
1.3.[Freehal]About the current server problems / Database issue :
Since the weekend I have a problem with the work unit database I have not fixed completely yet. Please look here: http://www.freehal.org/node/621#comment-3388 -- Best Regards, Tobias Schulz
28.2.[Simap]New Workunits in the evening (UTC) of March 1:
New Workunits: the calculation of similarities and features of new sequences, that were imported from protein databases into SIMAP until the end of February, will start in the evening (UTC) of March 1.
25.2.[GPUGRID]Small challenge :
We are doing a test of high-throughput production for a very small batch of WUs (29) named *challenge*. If you are lucky to get one, please prioritize them over the next 24h only. Many thanks.
22.2.[SETI]Designer of the Arecibo telescope has passed away.:
William E. Gordon, the designer of the Arecibo radio telescope, has passed away at the age of 92.
20.2.[Aqua]Help needed to analyze promising quantum processor data:
The AQUA project is getting promising data from D-Wave's quantum processors. The project is currently running a large number of simulations to help analyze this data. Anyone in the BOINC community with available CPU capacity would be very welcome to help out. The applications are now highly optimized and pay well. Please spread the word among your team members if you are interested in this scientific effort.
19.2.[GPUGRID]Optimizing protocols :
We are already working on an optimized version of the protocol that will appear in the Journal of Chemical Information and Modelling as announced some days ago. So far, they look very promising. More WUs for the new application are already out!
18.2.[Aqua]In the next few weeks emphasis will be on FP workunits:
Recently we have been performing a lot of simulations using the Fokker-Planck application, and this trend will continue for a while. The Fokker-Planck application supports single-core CPUs (SSE2 is required) and gives out about the same amount of credit as the original aqua application.
